The following are ideas for using
The Art of Eric Carle in the classroom.
- Submitted by Rosie
We found the book, The Art of Eric Carle and shared it with our mixed age group (2-5) along with many of his children’s books. The book showed how Mr. Carle paints on tissue paper then cuts his shapes from the painted paper to make his books. We let the children paint and print on tissue, then cut or ripped the paper to make “Eric Carle” pictures. Very interesting results.
Next we will write a letter to Mr. Carle. Oh, we also went on a bug “hunt” as so many of the books are about bugs.
